Made in 𝙲̶𝙷̶𝙸̶𝙽̶𝙰̶ God's Image

Hey Guys!! Since we finished our series on Paul's instructions to Timothy, I found myself thinking, what should we go onto next? And then it hit me!

I have decided to share the lesson God has been teaching me recently. Finding my worth within Christ

I have always found it so easy to seek my identity through how someone else perceived or treated me. Someone thinks I'm mean? That's what I am. Someone disappears?  I'm not worth sticking around for. This mentality created a severely poor self image.

Through the loss of one of my treasured relationships, God has taught me the consequences of  rooting my worth in others. Instead of listening to who God says I am, I sought to see myself through the lens of those around me, producing a form of idolatry.

Directly after this loss, I questioned my worth entirely and one day as I read my Bible, Luke 12:6-7 was revealed to me.
"Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God. Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows."

From this, this is what I took away and wanted to share:

  1. We Are Important: God treasures each and every one of us so much. He never wants us to question our importance in this world even though sometimes it can feel like we don't have any.
This song by Elevation Worship particularly reminds me of this.

  2. We Are God-Made: Psalms 139:13 says; "For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made..."  God has had a plan for us, before we were even born. We all have a purpose.
  3. We Are Not Alone: Despite what the enemy so heavily tries to convince us of, God is always with us. When we lose possessions, family or friends, He is always right there protecting us and there for us when we need someone. One of my favorite examples is God with the Israelites. By day, He led them with a pillar of cloud and by night He led them with a pillar of fire. He never left them (Exodus 13:21-22).
So, this is the scripture of the week for anyone feeling a bit down or stressed or just anyone who needs a reminder:
"The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still." ~Exodus 14:14
Until Next Time,
Nyeka.

  1. As always, very pointed and true. God has blessed you with tremendous vision and insight into His word and the gift of sharing it so well with all of us. Keep on growing in God and His love. He will continue to bless you in even greater things and well NEVER leave nor forsake you.

    Love it!
