It has been awhileeeeee.
Your girl has been struggling lately to be fully transparent but I am back!
After taking some suggestions and given the season I am currently in, today I want to talk to you guys about trials. More specifically not becoming discouraged while you're in the middle of them.
Yeah it's easy to stay rooted in God when life is going great and you're happy but what about when life starts throwing curveball after curveball? How do you prevent feeling separated and isolated?

Well, recently I had to learn that self-reliance is not the the best coping mechanism. While I will admit it seems "easier", even Jesus didn't go through his darkest moment alone. In Mark 14:32-41, He sets a perfect example by doing two things: praying and confiding in his closest disciples. Let's look a little closer.
Looking to the Lord Through Prayer
Throughout the gospels, we see Jesus often went off to pray. In this particular instance, He was praying for one particular thing; for his burden to be taken away if it was apart of God's plan. In the end, He moves from being overwhelmed to what seems to be resolved.
How I interpreted this; sometimes we need to go through the difficult things. Sometimes when we pray, instead of getting us around whatever it is that we so desperately want to avoid, He gives us the strength to get through the trial.
Psalm 34:22 tells us this;
"The Lord will rescue his servants;
no one who takes refuge in him will be condemned."
If nothing else, TALK TO GOD!
Confiding In Friends
Jesus took three disciples with Him to Gethsemane and He said to them "My soul is overwhelmed to the point of death." This displays a great level of what we know as vulnerability. We have to be willing to be open and honest with our fellow brothers and sisters in times of need. Jesus was a sinless man about to be punished for sins He did not commit and He felt these big emotions that He needed to express to others. How much more should we do the same? Especially when we mess up.
There are various verses in the Bible which highlight the importance of confiding in others. James 5:16 tells us to confess to each other so they can help us through prayer (there's that word again).
"The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective."

I think it is important we all have those people we can go to when life gets hard, when we feel down or feel like we are losing hope. We need to surround ourselves with people who won't lead us astray but keep us rooted.
To close out, I will leave you with this scripture which I think indirectly helped me through the last two weeks.
"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit"
He hears those prayers, stay strong.
Until Next Time,
Nyeka.
Love it. Thanks for that. From the mouth of babes wisdom and perspective. I watch you grow in your faith and love for God and I am amazed. Keep on keeping on.
